Abstract

The decline in the interest of teachers to become school principals is very concerning and makes things quite worrying and needs to be addressed immediately. This study aims to: 1) To describe the recruitment planning of elementary school principals in the Pejawaran district of Banjarnegara, 2) to describe the implementation of the recruitment of elementary school principals in the Pejawaran district of Banjarnegara,
3) to describe the evaluation of the recruitment of elementary school principals in the Pejawaran district of Banjarnegara in order to improve service quality. education, 4) Describe how to grow motivation so that teachers want to take part in the selection of principal recruitment. The research used is descriptive qualitative research with phenomenological methods. The research subjects were school principals, teachers, supervisors, Regional Coordinators, and elements from the Service. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that: 1) Primary School Principal Recruitment Planning is in accordance with the Minister of National Education Regulation No. 28 of 2010, 2) Primary School Principal Recruitment in Pejawaran District has been carried out transparently and refers to existing mechanisms. 3) Evaluation of the implementation of the recruitment of school principals at the Regional Office of Youth and Sports of Pejawaran in the future needs to be further improved and planned carefully. The inhibiting factors for teachers' lack of interest in being principals of elementary schools include the heavy responsibility, the principal's workload is quite a lot, the welfare allowance is inadequate, and the teacher's lack of trust in being role models. 4). Principals have a very important role in improving the quality of education services. Ways to grow motivation so that young teachers become aware of wanting to become school principals without coercion include the need for mental preparation and early knowledge, competency provision and a continuous approach to prospective school principals.
