This study aims to determine the role of parents in implementing the five main values of strengthening character education during the Covid-19 pandemic for students at SMP Negeri 1 Pengadegan. The type of research used is a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. The main methods used for data collection are observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique uses data reduction, data display, and data presentation. The results of the research on the role of parents in strengthening the five main values of strengthening character education are very much needed during the Covid-19 pandemic. The five main values which include religious values, nationalism, mutual cooperation, independence, integrity are always emphasized by parents to their children (students). The reinforcement of these values refers to the needs and is taught by parents through various daily activities. Independent character is more emphasized because it supports students in participating in online learning. Implementation constraints are in the method of parenting and student awareness. The alternative solution is to strengthen the pattern of habituation and example of parents towards students.
