Abstract
The signaled intersection at the Karanglewas intersection is one of the connecting intersections between Purwokerto and Ajibarang so that it has the potential to cause congestion and delays due to the heavy traffic flow, especially during rush hour with various types of vehicles. In this study, the authors will continue research that has been analyzed by previous researchers to determine the effectiveness of traffic lights at the Karanglewas Purwokerto intersection and compare the problem solving factors in the analysis in 2020 and 2025. The method used to analyze signaled intersections is using the Manual Capacity Road Indonesia method. . From the results of the analysis, it was found that in 2020 the signalized intersection at the Karanglewas intersection at the north, south, east, west approach had a degree of saturation (DS) of 1.14, 0.92, 1.14, 1.14. (DS> 0.75 Saturated). Handling scenario I is by changing the phase from 3 phases to 2 phases, scenario II, which is on the east and west arms to turn left directly. then the result of the degree of saturation in the western approach is 0.76 (DS> 0.75 Saturated). Because the west arm is still saturated, scenario III is carried out, namely by increasing the road width from 11 meters to 15 meters. then the value of the degree of saturation for the west arm is 0.50 (DS <0.75 Unsaturated). For the north, south and east approaches respectively 0.44, 0.4, 0.25. (DS <0.75 Unsaturated). and the effectiveness of the green light on the north and south arms by 30 seconds, for the west and east arms by 98 seconds. And in 2025 the intersection has a signal at the Karanglewas intersection at the north, south, east, west approach with the degree of saturation (DS) of 1.82, 1.47, 1.82, 1.82. (DS> 0.75 Saturated). Handling scenario I is by changing the phase from 3 phases to 2 phases, scenario II, which is on the east and west arms to turn left directly. Then the results of the degree of saturation for north, south, east and west are 1.65, 0.97, 0.6 and 1.22. Because the north, south and west arms are still saturated, scenario III is carried out by changing the green time and the width of the road to the west from 11 meters to 15 meters. then the value of the degree of saturation for the north, south, east, and west arms is 0.72, 0.66, 0.41, and 0.73 (DS <0.75 Unsaturated). And the effectiveness of the green light on the north, south, east, west arms is 30, 30, 98, 110 seconds.
