The research aims to find out the mood or mood on the social interaction skills of
children with Down syndrome. The subject of this study was a boy with Down
syndrome, aged 8 years. This research was conducted in Grendeng Village, North
Purwokerto Sub District, Bayumas Regency. This is a type of case study research
with descriptive qualitative research to describe interventions or phenomena and the
real-life context that occurs with them. This study explored the effect of mood on the
social interaction ability of children with Down syndrome intensively. The results of
the research on WL show that children with special needs who have developmental
problems with Down syndrome are characterized by Mongoloid faces. Authoritative
parenting is the parenting style given by parents to WL shown by an attitude of
accepting, caring for children with patience and compassion, obeying their wishes
but still providing supervision and controls to them. In this research, WLs mood is
like the other children's mood in general. He can also feel happy, sad, and afraid of
something. In addition, WL is able to carry out social interactions naturally with
other people.
