Abstract

Pre-eclampsia is still being a common desease in pregnant women, even according to WHO (2007) pre-eclampsia is more common in pregnant women of developing country rather than the developed one and it will even cause pregnant women’s death upto 10-25%. In the study of Harini et al., in 2018 at the RSUD Prof. Dr. Margono Soekardjo has the potential of calcium involvement in severe pre-eclampsia case. This study is aimed to determine the correlation between calcium supplements consumption and the pre-eclampsia of pregnant women case in the Banyumas District Health Center in the western region. This study uses a retrospective cohort approach in October 2018 to March 2019 period. This study is included into quatitative research with a total sampling technique using checklist data. The obtained results are as many as 44 (62,9%) of respondents experienced pre-eclampsia because they were still lacking in consuming calcium supplements and only 26 (37,1%) respondents had sufficient calcium needs. The results of statistical tests show that the p-value = 0,022 (<0,05), then H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected, which means the results of the study show that there is a significant correlation between consumption of calcium supplements for mothers who suffer mild pre-eclaampsia and is judged to be still lacking in taking calcium supplements will suffer severe pre-eclampsia 0,30 times higher compared mothers with mild pre-eclampsia but is sufficient in taking calcium supplements in the Banyumas District Health Center in the western region.
