Abstract

This study aims to develop a thematic learning model of art and culture using
video theatericalization of “Cowongan” for students in elementary schools. This
research is a research development that aims to improve the ability to verbalize
“Kidung Kasengsaraan Mangsa Ketiga” with the Banyumas dialect. This
research produces a product in the form of 1 cd thematic learning, 1 CD (Compact
Disc) video theater of Cowongan, 1 Student Thematic book, and 1 Teacher
Thematic book. The research design uses R and D with 10 steps of research
namely the potential and problem stages used in this study are the results of
interviews with resource persons namely Banyumas cultural Titut Edi Purwanto
and Heri Suritno, documents, teachers and students. Data collection techniques in
research gather information, product design, product validation, product testing,
design revision, trial use, product revision, mass production, and dissemination.
These data sources are interviews, observations, taking questionnaires, and tests.
The sampling technique uses cluster sampling as the population of SDN 4 Sok
anegara students. Research and development carried out by researchers produced
a product in the form of 1 thematic learning CD, 1 piece of the video of the
theatericalization of the cowongan, 1 student Thematic Book, and 1 Teacher
Thematic book. The product is used to improve the ability to speak up the
Banyumas dialect. The results of research in verbalizing the geguritan include
laval, intonation, placement of pauses, and expressions. The observations of
researchers obtained data that the average posttest results that the experimental
class reached 90 of the expected score, while the average control class reached
75.75 of the expected score. Independent sample t test obtained t count 5.23 while
t table 2.210. Because t arithmetic is greater than t table so it falls in the rejection
area Ho so that Ha is accepted, which means there is a significant difference. T
arithmetic greater than t table so that it falls on the acceptance of Ha so Ho is
rejected then there is a significant difference. The results of the effectiveness test
in the research prove that the class that uses the product is better than the one that
does not use the product so that the ability to speak up using the Banyumas dialect
is more effective.
