Abstract

This research is to improve the results and write description text of students of Ajibarang 1 Public Middle School, Ajibarang Subdistrict, Banyumas Regency by using the field trip method. This research is a classroom action research. The research subjects were 34 students of class VII G Ajibarang 1 Public Middle School. Data collection techniques used were test and non-test. Data validity was done using construct validity and content validity. Analysis of the data used is qualitative with percentages and quantitative data analysis. The data obtained is categorized based on an analysis of interest between components. The results of the data are then presented in the form of descriptive exposure. This research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results of this study indicate that field trip methods can improve the ability to write description text, can be seen from before the action of learning outcomes students get an average value of 69. 41 with a percentage of completeness 23. 5% with 8 students who scored above KKM and 28 students who not complete. So the researcher took the next action to improve students' writing skills with 2 cycles. In the first cycle of 34 students who did not complete 20 students and students who received complete grades 14 students with a percentage of completeness 41. 2%. While in the second cycle students who did not complete 11 students and completed 23 students from 34 students with a percentage of completeness 67. 6%. So the ability to write description text description text is stated to increase using the field trip method.
