Abstract
The aim of this research was to find out the effectiveness of identity cards as a media in teaching WH-Questions to the second grade of Junior High School. This research was conducted in SMP N 2 KEDUNGBANTENG in accademic year 2017/2018. The quasi experimental research was held on may – july 2017. The total sample was 64 students. They were divided into two classes ; 32 students from VIII E as control class and 32 students from VIII F as experimental class. The experiment class were thought with identity card as a media in teaching WH-Questions. for collecting the data, the researcher used test as an instrument. The test was done twice, they were post-test and pre-test. The result computation shows that identity card is effective in teaching WH-Question especially on the second grade of SMP N 2 KEDUNGBANTENG. It would be seen from the t-test result which was 1,683 and the value of t-table with the degree of freedom 64 was 1.671. The degree of freedom based on the previous computation is 62 with the value of t-table of 1.671 at the level of significance of 0.05 and the value of t-test is 1.683. Since the t-test was higher than t-table ( 1,683 > 1,671), it meant that the use of identity card made a great effect in teaching WH-Questions and the hypothesis is accepted.
