Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms of imperative pragmatics and imperative
politeness, including linguistic politeness and pragmatic politeness. This type of
research is descriptive qualitative. The data of this study study are the speeches of the
figures in the short film of “education” on YouTube by vocational school students in
2018. The data source is a collection of short films with the theme of “education” by
vocational school students uploaded on YouTube 2018. This study implements three
stages namely the stages of providing data, analyzing data, and presenting the results
of data analysis. At the stage of providing data, this study employed observation
method of tapping techniques, continued with the technique of Observation nonparticipatory
(SBLC) and noting technique. The data analysis used comparative
method of diving key factors (PUP) technique as a basic technique, the equalizing
technique (HBS) as an advanced technique. The results can be concluded that the
imperative pragmatic forms contained in the Short Film wiith the theme of
“Education” by Vocational School students uploaded on YouTube in 2018 are
imperative of ordering, requesting, urging, appealing, asking, inviting, permission
requesting, prohibiting, and recommending. Linguistic politeness and imperative
pragmatic politeness found was in the form of imperative pragmatics in short film
theme of “education” by vocational high school students uploaded on YouTube in 2018
