This research is motivated by the low value of students in writing persuation text, which is one reason because learning to write persuasive text in the classroom is less attractive for students, this is due to the use of a media to attract students attention. Teacher must be creative in choosing media that is effective and in accordance with the learning that will be carried out. One of alternative media that can be used in learning persuation text writing is by using photo media. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of photo media in learning to write persuation text. The method used in this research is an experimental method. The data collection technique use writing test a persuation text and the data analysis technique use statistical technique with t-test formula. The results of research shows that the average score magnified by the initial test experimental class is 43.8 and the final test is 79.5 with an increase in score of 35.7, for the control class average value on initial test is 42 and final test is 63.59 with an increase in value of 21.59. From the calculation of the data obtained Tvalues is 4,076. While the value of Ttable obtained 2.018, then the value of Tcount is 4,076 > the value of Ttable is 2,018, then based on the basis of decision making through a comparison of the calculated Tvalues with Ttables, it can be concluded that HO is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means that the photo media is effectively used as a media to improve learning outcomes in writing persuasive texts .
