Herbal medicine is one of the traditional medicines and has been widely used by Indonesian residents. Medication needed by the community must meet the determine requirements of traditional medicine. These requirement are regulated in the ndonesia National Agency of Drug and Food Control number 12 of 2014 concering quality requirements for traditional medicine. In the regulation there are several parameters including organoleptic, uniformity of weight, water content, total plate count, yeast mold number. The seafty of traditional medicine cannot be fulfilled if the drug exceed the parameters. So it needs to be measured organoleptic, uniformity of weight, water content, tota plate count, mold and yeast numbe.
This study aims the quality of female powdered herbal medicine published in the Banjarnegara region in terms of organoleptic parameters, weight uniformity, water content, mold and yeast number, and total plate count (TPC). This research is non-experimental. The test sample consisted of 13 brands of female herbal medicine that were published in Banjarnegara. The data obtained consisted of organoleptic, uniformity weights, air content, mold and yeast number and TPC. Water content testing is done by the gravimetric method, mold and yeast number testing of the media used is Potato Dextro Agar. Whereas TPC testing uses Nutrient Agar media.
The results of the organoleptic research of all the samples were in the form of a bitter taste, a characteristic herbal odor. Whereas for the color there were 9 samples which were yellow and 4 samples which were brownish-yellow. For uniformity of weights as much as 15.38% of the samples that meet the requirements do not meet the requirements, and as much as 38.46% do not meet the requirements of air content. As for the mold, and yeast number, and TPC, all samples meet the applicable requirements.
