Cancer is also called malignancy or malignant tumor. Cancer is a
condition when cells that have to work normally become uncontrolled. The
decision to choose effective therapy in cancer patients is very important, because
it deals with the costs incurred and the results obtained. This study aims to find
out which is more cost effective between therapy in cancer patients at PKU
Muhammadiyah Hospital in Yogyakarta. This research is a descriptive analysis
research, with a type of non-experimental research. Data retrieval is retrospective
with cross sectional analytical research design. 45 cancer patients. One way to
measure quality of life is by using the European Quality of Life 5-Dimensions
(EQ5D) questionnaire issued by Euro Qol in the UK. Quality of life as measured
by EQ-VAS values shows an average value of 67.11 ± 13.03. This shows that the
quality of life in cancer patients in PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta hospital is
being, because it does not approach the value of 100 which is good and far from
the value of 0 which means bad. Based on the results of ICER calculations
between the old drug cancer therapy regimen (Carboplatin-Doxetaxel) and other
therapeutic regimens with good quality of life results (1) namely new cancer drug
therapy (Oxaliplatin-Capecitabin) within five months at a cost of Rp. 38,560,033.
