This descriptive qualitative research aimed to describe mathematical problem solving abilities and Spiritual Quotient (SQ) of students at MTs Muhammadiyah Ahmad Dahlan. The source of the research data was the students of Grade VIII A while the research subjects were obtained by using purposive sampling technique. The students were categorized into two categories: students with high achievement and students with low achievement. There were three students selected as the respondents for each category. The research data were obtained through several methods such as tests, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Based on the results of the research, students with high achievement had good mathematical problem solving abilities and Spiritual Quotient (SQ), while students with low achievement had quite good mathematical problem solving abilities and Spiritual Quotient (SQ).
