Abstract

This research aimed to figure out the influence of an animated film entitled Syamil and Dodo on expressive linguistic development of children aged 5-6 years old. The subjects of this study were students at TK (Kindergarten) Masyitoh 4 Pamijen totaling 3 children consisting of 2 female children and 1 male child. This research was conducted at the kindergarten in Sokaraja Sub-District of Banyumas Regency.
This is an experimental research using a single-case experimental design. The design aimed to evaluate the effect of a treatment on each subject. Data collection techniques in this study used observation and documentation. The research instrument used was guideline for observing the development of expressive languages of children aged 5-6 years. The data analysis technique used visual inspection and qualitative-descriptive where the research data were presented in graphical form and would be explained descriptively.
The results showed that in the first baseline phase (A1) subjects S and subject R had not shown the expressive linguistic development in accordance with the guidelines for observing expressive linguistic development in children aged 5-6 years. While subject D has shown the development in accordance with the observation guidelines on statement item number two. Whereas in the treatment phase (B) all three subjects experienced an improvement in several statement items in the guidelines for observing expressive linguistic development for the children. Finally, the second baseline phase (A2) of the three subjects experienced a significant improvement in some items statement of expressive linguistic development. Thus, giving treatment in form of watching the film gave a positive influence on the expressive linguistic development of the children aged 5-6 years at TK Masyitoh 4 Pamijen.
