Abstract

Indonesia is a tropical country with the potential of plants which can be used as medicinal plants since the ancient era till now. This study was conducted in order to find out the use of single medicinal plants and medicinal plants the largest 10 diseases based on Health Center Rembang Sub-district, Purbalingga District and find information about the ethnoeconomic value of medicinal plants used by people in Rembang sub-district. This research is a descriptive survey conducted with semi-structured interviews as the data collection. The total samples, 35 informants,were interviewed in January-March 2018. The data obtained were analyzed qualitatively by interpretation of interview results. The results showed that medicinal plants are most often used to overcome the 10 biggest diseases expericed in Rembang Sub-district, Purbalingga District. They use of single medicinal plants such as avocado, onion dayak, kelor, soursop, ginger and sambiloto, and based on medicinal herb plants namely guava leaves, pepper, sambiloto, green betel, tiba urip and wresah, then boiling (54,92%) as the most used method of preparation. All medicinal plants in Rembang sub-district have economic value.
