Abstract
The aim of this study was to find out the effectiveness of using who am I game in teaching speaking at the seventh grade students of SMPN 6 Purwokerto in academic year 2017/2018. This study used quasi experimental research involving thirty three students of class VIIF as experimental class and thirty four students of class VIIG as controlled class. The treatment was conducted in April 2018. In order to obtain the data, the researcher used pre-test and post-test. The data were analyzed by using t-test calculation to prove the research hypothesis. The result of t-test computation was 5.05 and the value of t-table at the level significance 0.05 with degree of freedom 65 was 1.67. Thus, the result of t-test computation was higher than the t-table (5.05 >1,67), it means that the research hypothesis is accepted. So, it can be concluded that the who am I game has positive effect in the teaching speaking skill.
