Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) teacher perceptions of Mobile Assisted Language
Learning (MALL) assisted in Banyumas Regency Middle School, (2) students'
perceptions of Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL) assisted learning in
Banyumas Regency Middle School, (3) how far the teacher implements Mobile
Assisted Language Learning (MALL) assisted learning, (4) how far students
implement the Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL) assisted learning. The
research methods used are descriptive, quantitative and qualitative. The
population in this study were all public and private junior high schools in the
Banyumas Regency area of 152 schools. The sample was taken 15 schools
including 8 state junior high schools (4 municipal junior high schools and 4
suburban / village junior high schools) and 7 private junior high schools (4 urban
private junior high schools and 3 suburban / rural private junior high schools) in
Banyumas Regency. Data collection techniques using questionnaires and
interviews. Based on the analysis of the data obtained by the results of research
that the perception and implementation of teachers in assisted learning Mobile
Assisted Language Learning (MALL) in Banyumas Regency with an average of
114.8, the highest score of 124, the lowest score of 94 of the total score of 1722
can be categorized well. The perception and implementation of students in
assisted learning Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL) in Banyumas
Regency Junior High School with an average of 1427.73, the highest score of
1545, the lowest score of 1240 of the total score of 21416 can be categorized well.
The results of the questionnaire showed that teachers and students had a good
perception and implementation of MALL-assisted learning, although there were
still some obstacles encountered in its application.
