The background of this research was the students' low mathematics
learning outcomes including cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains.
This research aimed to improve the learning outcomes of mathematics through
cooperative models of Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) type
assisted with picture media. This classroom action research was conducted in
two cycles, each cycle consisted of two meetings with one learning plan of
each. This research consisted of stages of planning, action, observation, and
reflection. The subjects of this research were the fifth graders (class B) totaling
35 students including 18 males and 17 females. The data collection tools were
evaluation test, teacher and student activity sheets, as well as affective domain
observation sheets and psychomotor domains for students. The improvement
results that occur can be viewed in each cycle. In the first cycle, the
completeness of the students' cognitive learning outcomes was 64.2% and
increased in the second cycle by 82.3 %. Affective learning outcomes of
students in the first cycle obtained an average of 2.4 with sufficient criteria and
the second cycle obtained a mean of 3.21 with good criteria. The psychomotor
learning outcomes of students in the first cycle obtained an average of 1.99
with sufficient criteria and the second cycle obtained an average of 2.93 with
good criteria. The results of this research indicated that the implementation of a
cooperative model of Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) type
assisted with picture media was able to improve students' mathematics learning
outcomes.
