This thesis aims to describe the shape and purpose of the implicature in
the environmental slogan, the character values contained in the environmental
slogan, and the usefulness of research in learning slogans in junior high schools.
This type of research used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data in
this study are in the form of words, phrases, clauses and sentences in the
discourse of environmental slogans. The data sources in this study are schools
in the Purbalingga Regency and Goa Gong Tourism Objects. This research was
conducted in three stages, namely the stage of providing data using the method
of listening to the basic techniques of tapping, the stage of analyzing data using
the pragmatic equivalent method, and the stage of presenting the results of
analyzing data using informal methods using ordinary words rather than with
symbols or language symbols. The results of a study of 72 environmental slogans
found three forms of implicature, namely declarative, imperative and
interrogative forms. The purpose of the implicature found is the purpose of the
command, urge, invitation, inducement, prohibition of appeal, hope,
congratulations, and the purpose of the request. The character values in the
environmental slogan analyzed are religious, nationalist, independent, mutual
cooperation, and integrity values. The usefulness of this research is an effort to
achieve completeness in students' knowledge and skills competence in learning
slogan texts and strengthening the formation of student characters through
character value based learning materials and resources.
