Abstract

Background: health centers as one of the health care providers are expected to provide quality health services so it can give satisfaction to the patient. The participation of health professionals in improving the quality of patient health care is very required especially the role of the pharmacist as an expert in the field of pharmacy accordance with Law No. 23 Year 1992 on healthcare. But in fact, the role of a pharmacist in the health center is still very minimal perceived.
Objective: This study purpose to describing and comparing the level of patient satisfaction in drug information services related to the existence of pharmacist at the health centers.
Methods: the method of this research is an observational analytic with cross sectional research design. Data were collected by using a questionnaire distributed to 200 patients in health centers with pharmacists and health centers without pharmacist. Data were analyzed using chi square test and the importance performance analysis (IPA).
Results: based on the results of chi square analysis obtained differences in the level of patient satisfaction in the health centers with pharmacist and health centers without a pharmacist. And from the analysis of IPA in quadrant I (top priority) in health center without a pharmacist there are attributes of the dimensions of reliability, assurance and tangible contrast to health centers with pharmacists there are dimension of reliability and tangible. Dimensional attributes of reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and tangible both in health center with a pharmacist or in health center without pharmacist there In quadrant II (defense achievements) but the percentage of service in dimension reliability, assurance and tangible in health center with pharmacist is greater than health center without pharmacist. Most of the reliability dimension both in health center with pharmacists and health centers without pharmacists being in quadrant III (lower priority) but beside of the attributes dimensions reliability, the attribute of assurance dimensions contained in the health center with pharmacist. In quadrant IV (redundant) in the health centers without a pharmacist besides reliability dimension there is also a tangible dimension different from the health centers with pharmacist which only there are atributte of dimention reliablity
Conclusion: there are differences in the level of patient satisfaction in the health centers with pharmacist and health centers without a pharmacist. Based on quadrant II the service of dimensions reliability, assurance and tangible in the health centers with pharmacist is better than in the health centers without a pharmacist.
