Abstract

The aim of this study was to find out the effectiveness of circle game in teaching writing at the third grade students of SMP N 1 Sokaraja in academic year 2014/2015. The study was conducted by using quasi experimental. These participants of this study were the third grade of SMPN 1 Sokaraja. There were two classes by which class E was used as the experimental class and class F was used as the control class. Test was used in collecting the data of this study, namely pre-test and post-test. The test consisted of essay. Based on the computation, t-test result was 3.24 and the result of r-table at the significant level 0.05 with the degree of freedom 62 was 1.670. The calculation of t-obtained with t-table was concluded that t-obtained was higher than t-table (3.24>1.670). Based on the study result, it is showed that Circle Game was effective for teaching writing at the third grade of SMP N 1 Sokaraja in academic year 2014/2015.
