This research examines the patriarchal fear and misogynistic representation of women's power through the character of Wanda Maximoff in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022). Using Kate Manne's theory of misogyny as a policing tool, the study analyzes how Wanda is framed not as a grieving mother, but as a threat to male-dominated order. Through qualitative methods and visual analysis, this thesis explores how Wanda's emotional strength and ultimately punishable. The narrative constructs Wanda as the "other," using cinematic techniques to visually reinforce her alienation and monstrosity. While male characters like Doctor Strange are granted moral complexity and redemption, Wanda is reduced to a symbol of chaos whose empowerment must be suppressed. The findings show that the film reproduces a subtle form of patriarchal control, in which strong women are not celebrated but vilified. This study highlights how mainstream cinema still sustains misogynistic narratives by portraying female autonomy and grief as a threat to social order.
