Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of The Google Translte and
The Quization strategy in teaching reading. In this study, a quasi-experimental
research approach was utilized and the participants were students in the 8th grade
at Smp Muhammadiyah Kedungbanteng with a total of 64 students participating.
The data collection methode used is a test, which is devided into two, namely pre
test and post test with a total of 25 items for each test instrument. The data analysis
technique used was T-test. The finding demonstrate that the value of the t-test was
higher than the t-table (4.78>1.670).Therefore the hypothesis saying that using
Google Translate and Quization strategy is accepted. It meant that there was
significant difference between the studen’s reading comprehensin before and after
using Google Translate and Quization strategy. In brief, using Google Translate and
Quization strategy can be one of the effective ways in teching reading
comprehension.
