Abstract

This study aims to analyze teachers' pedagogical competence and teachers' efforts
in implementing P5 (Project for Strengthening the Profile of Pancasila Students)
and its influence on the effectiveness of P5 implementation in grade 5 elementary
schools of Gugus Walisanga, Bawang sub-district, Banjarnegara district. Using a
mixed methods approach with an Explanatory Sequential Design, this study
integrates quantitative and qualitative data to get a comprehensive picture.
The results showed that the pedagogical competence of teachers in Walisanga
Cluster primary schools still needs to be improved. Although teachers have a
fairly good understanding of the concept and purpose of P5, qualitative data
revealed that this understanding is not fully implemented effectively in learning
practices. Variations in P5 implementation indicate a gap between theory and
practice, emphasizing the need for intensive mentoring and additional training.
Furthermore, this study found a significant positive correlation between teachers'
pedagogical competence and the effectiveness of P5 implementation, with a
correlation value of r = 0.92 ( α < 0.05). Teachers with higher pedagogical
competence tend to be more successful in implementing P5 and creating a
learning environment that supports students' character development. Therefore,
improving pedagogical competence through training and professional
development is a priority in an effort to improve the effectiveness of P5
implementation in primary schools.
