Abstract
The character of the nation's young generation is currently being hit by a moral crisis, which is marked by rampant cases of violations of norms and values among adolescents, such as bullying, free sex, and brawls. The importance of religious character education as a solution, to develop the potential of students who are faithful, noble, and responsible. This study aims to determine the implementation of the boarding school curriculum in instilling religious character and character that is successfully instilled through the implementation of the boarding school curriculum.
This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach and the type of research used is field research. Data obtained through interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis used the approach proposed by Miles and Hubberman, including data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing.
This study examines the implementation of the boarding school curriculum in instilling religious character in Madrasah Tsanawiyah Daarus Sunnah Al-Islamy Wangon, which focuses on three main aspects: programme development, learning implementation, and evaluation. The results showed that the implementation of the boarding school curriculum succeeded in significantly instilling religious characters in the aspects of belief, worship, morals, muamalah, Islamic history and civilisation, and literacy of the Qur'an and hadith. The implementation of the pesantren curriculum at MTs Daarus Sunnah Al-Islamy Wangon succeeded in instilling five main characters in students: religiosity, independence, discipline, responsibility, and mutual cooperation.
