Madrasah ibtidaiyah is a religion-based school that was founded to prepare noble people who uphold Islamic religious values. However, student delinquency still occurs in the madrasah environment which can have a negative impact on the learning process and character formation of students. The aim of the research is to determine the types of student delinquency, the factors that cause student delinquency and determine the efforts of madrasa teachers in dealing with student delinquency at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah Karanglewas, Kutasari District, Purbalingga Regency.
This research uses a qualitative approach with a type of field research using descriptive analysis methods. The data collection techniques were carried out using observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis was carried out in three steps, namely data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions.
The results of this research show that there are types of student delinquency in the mild category, such as making fun of each other's parents' names, lying to fellow students and not doing homework. Then, in serious categories such as fighting, forming gangs, bullying, stealing and truancy. The factors that cause student delinquency come from internal factors such as a lack of religious foundation and weak social control. External factors such as parents' lack of attention, problems in the family, unsupervised use of technology and a poor social environment. There are two ways in which madrasas can deal with student delinquency, namely preventive and curative. Preventive measures are carried out by familiarizing students with religious activities such as Duha prayer, midday prayer and Friday prayer in congregation, as well as memorizing Juz Amma together. Curative action is carried out by providing supervision, giving warnings or advice and sanctions to students. For students who have serious types of delinquency, the madrasah involves parents in dealing with student delinquency so that it does not continue.
