Abstract

The formation of the Islamic character of independent worship in schools
cannot be separated from the role of ISMUBA (Al-Islam, Muhammadiyah and
Arabic) teachers. Because ISMUBA teachers are figures and role models for their
students who will later be able to support the success of Islamic character, one of
which is independence in worship through example and habit. The aim of this
research is to: (1) Describe the role of ISMUBA teachers in improving the Islamic
character of students' independence in worship at SMA Muhammadiyah Sokaraja.
(2) Describe the supporting and inhibiting factors for ISMUBA teachers in
improving the Islamic character of independent worship at Muhammadiyah
Sokaraja High School.
This research is a type of field research (field research) using observation,
interview and documentation data collection techniques. The data analysis used is
primary data from the results of interviews conducted, where the data collected will
be analyzed qualitatively using descriptive methods, namely describing the
description of the data obtained and connecting them with each other to reach
conclusions.
This research shows that ISMUBA teachers at SMA Muhammadiyah
Sokaraja have a role in improving the Islamic character of independent worship in
their students. The role of the teacher is the ISMUBA teacher as First, Mu’allim, a
person who masters knowledge and is able to develop and explain its function in
life, explain its theoretical and practical dimensions and try to inspire students to
practice it. Second, Mudarris, people who are able to coordinate teaching and
learning activities, are able to increase children's intelligence and are sensitive to
intellectual material and refresh their knowledge and skills. Third, Muaddib, people
who are able to prepare students to be responsible in building a quality civilization
in the future.
