This can be seen from the low of memorization and passing rates for the juziyyah exam, which is caused by the lack of control at school and at home. Beside that, the existing teaching modules were not interesting enough. After developing the old module and implementing the independent reading method, students' memorization became better, as the evidenced of the increasin the number of students passing the juziyyah exam. (2) The steps for developing the independent reading method teaching module are carried out by increasing the reading and repetition of each verse according to a certain number of counts. (3) The quality of the independent reading method teaching module can be measured through responses from experts, teachers and students. Based on the results of the questionnaire, this module received an average score of 88.5% from expert validation, which means this module was very feasible and interesting based on the experts' analysis criteria. On the other hand, this module also received an average score of 89% from teacher responses, and 91.4% from student responses, which shows that this module was highly approved to use based on the teacher and student response criteria.
