The purpose of this research is to find out the application of forms of tolerance and
responsibility, to find obstacles that cause low attitudes of tolerance and responsibility,
and to find solutions and efforts to overcome these obstacles. Forming attitudes of
tolerance and responsibility in fifth grade students of SD Negeri 3 Banjaranyar. This
research is a qualitative case study method, collecting data with interview guidelines,
observation guidelines, and documentation guidelines. The results showed that fifth
grade students of SD Negeri 3 Banjaranyar showed a good attitude of tolerance outside
of learning time. However, there are some students who do not respect their peers in
terms of religious differences and differences in social or economic conditions such as
not respecting when they worship, making fun of their friends by calling their parents'
names. In addition, fifth grade students of SD Negeri 3 Banjaranyar show a lack of
self-awareness in cleaning up trash and unused items. With these problems, a meeting
must be held between teachers, parents, and students to provide knowledge and how to
instill and habituate good habits to improve attitudes of tolerance and responsibility
