Abstract

This research aims to describe the forms of women's resistance as manifestations of their existence in the "Yuni" novel by Ade Ubaidil from the perspective of existential feminism by Simone de Beauvoir. This research used a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The data source for this research was the "Yuni" novel by Ade Ubaidil. Data collection in this research is conducted through reading techniques and note-taking techniques. The data, which are quotations from the novel, were then analyzed using Simone de Beauvoir's existential feminism theory. The results of this research indicate that in the "Yuni" novel by Ade Ubaidil, the following conclusions are drawn: 1) Myths are sacred stories that reflect societal values, combining real and imaginary events to explain origins, nature, and culture. Myths restrict the freedom of individuals, especially women, from gender stereotypes. In the context of feminism, it is important to debunk myths limiting women so they can live according to their free desires, transcending social constructions that hinder equality and autonomy. 2) Women's fate is not a natural destiny but rather the result of social conditions that emphasize gender differences, shaping women to be more passive and inferior. It is important to resist the view that women have a destiny determined by biological or natural factors. Women should be given the freedom to determine their own path without being limited by gender stereotypes or social norms that restrict their freedom and autonomy. 3) Women should have the freedom to pursue the life, education, and career they desire without being limited by gender stereotypes or traditional roles. Women can resist bindings that are not in line with their desires, such as in the realm of household, to achieve greater goods.
