Abstract

This study aims to enhance the ability of reading Arabic alphabets among children in Group B at Buah Hati Kendalrejo Playgroup, Petarukan district, Pemalang regency. This research employed Classroom Action Research conducted in two cycles. The subjects in this group were 15 children, comprising 6 boys and 9 girls, enrolled in the playgroup. Data collection methods utilized in this research included observation, interviews, and documentation. The problem-solving steps in this study comprised four stages of activities: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data analysis employed in this research was qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of the analysis in this research indicated a significant improvement in the ability to read Arabic alphabets among children. In the initial study, out of 15 children, 4 children (27%) were classified as not developing (ND), 6 children (40%) as beginning to develop (BD), 3 children (20%) as developing as expected (DE), and 2 children (13%) as developing very well (DVW). In Cycle I, out of 15 children, 2 children (13%) were classified as not developing (ND), 4 children (27%) as beginning to develop (BD), 6 children (40%) as developing as expected (DE), and 3 children (20%) as developing very well (DVW). In Cycle II, out of 15 children, 3 children (20%) were beginning to develop (BD), 7 children (47%) were developing as expected (DE), and 5 children (33%) were developing very well (DVW). In other words, there was an improvement in the ability to read Arabic alphabets from the initial study by 33%, in Cycle I by 60%, and in Cycle II by 80%.
