The aim of this research is to determine the ability to write inspirational story
texts through showing short films in Indonesian language subjects for class IX C
students at SMP Negeri 9 Purwokerto. The type of research used is Classroom
Action Research (PTK) which consists of two learning cycles. The research
subjects used were 36 class IX C students. Data collection uses tests and non-tests
with data analysis techniques using quantitative and qualitative techniques. The
results of the research obtained are that short film viewing media can improve the
ability to write inspirational story texts for class IX C students at SMP Negeri 9
Purwokerto for the 2024/2025 academic year. This is proven by the increase in
students' ability to write inspirational stories starting from the pretest, post test
cycle I, and post test cycle II.
