This research was conducted to improve children's language skills through
storytelling based on local wisdom. Children's low language skills can be caused
by teachers still using monotonous learning methods and not stimulating
children's language skills. This type of research is Classroom Action Research
(PTK). Data collection was obtained through observation and documentation.
The subjects of this research were 10 children from group A PAUD KB Ahmad
Dahlan, Cimanggu District. The results of data analysis stated that the
percentage of students' language skills increased in each cycle. This is proven by
the increase in students' language skills from 100% or 10 students in the initial
condition whose language skills were still low, increasing to 70% or 7 students in
the first cycle, and at the end of the second cycle it increased to 100% or it can be
concluded that 10 students were declared experienced an increase in the language
skills of the total number of students by 10 students. From the two cycles carried
out, it can be concluded that the storytelling method based on local wisdom can
improve the language skills of children in group A PAUD KB Ahmad Dahlan,
Cimanggu District.
