Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (CAR) was conducted in the Aisyiyah Tunas Melati Playgroup in
Banyumudal, Moga District, Pemalang Regency, in the academic year of 2023/2024. This study aims to
improve the fine motor skills of children in the Aisyiyah Tunas Melati Playgroup. The research consisted of
two cycles, with each cycle comprising three meetings. Problem-solving consists of four stages: planning,
implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were obtained through observation and direct
documentation of the research subjects, the children in the Aisyiyah Tunas Melati Playgroup in
Banyumudal, totaling 16 children (9 boys and 7 girls). Furthermore, the research data were analyzed step
by step using descriptive qualitative analysis and percentage analysis from the initial study, Cycle I, and
Cycle II. After analyzing the results, it shows a significant improvement in the development of children's
fine motor skills. Initially, out of 16 children, 44% were starting to develop (MB) fine motor skills, 31% were
developing as expected (BSH), and 25% were developing very well (BSB). After Cycle 1, the number of
children showing MB fine motor skills decreased to 31%, those developing as expected increased to 44%,
and those developing very well remained at 25%. Subsequently, in Cycle II, the number of children showing
MB fine motor skills decreased to 6%, those developing as expected increased to 50%, and those developing
very well further increased to 44%. In conclusion, there was an overall increase in children's fine motor
skills from the initial study to Cycle I and Cycle II by 94%, comprising 50% developing as expected (BSH) and
44% developing very well (BSB). Therefore, the research results indicate a success rate of 94% in Cycle II,
exceeding the 75% completeness threshold. In other words, the research was successful.
