Abstract
The development of the world of cosmetics is currently
increasingly rapid, closely related to the emergence of various cosmetic products.
Cosmetics manufacturers use social media advertising to attract teenagers to use
their products. With persuasive words, many people are interested in cosmetics
who don't know whether they are safe to use or not. The duration is related to how
long and often they are exposed to advertising, the assumption is that the
possibility of someone getting influence from advertising is increasingly clear.
Method: The respondents used were teenagers aged 17 -25 years who live in
Central Java. This type of research is analytical observational to determine
whether there is an influence between the level of knowledge and attitudes
towards choosing cosmetics on social media among teenagers in Central Java. The
design used in this research is a cross-sectional study with a data collection
method by distributing Google form questionnaire questions distributed via social
media. The data obtained is presented in the form of short answer options
provided in the questionnaire sheet. Analysis using the SPSS version 23
application. Results: The research results showed that 530 respondents had a good
level of knowledge. A total of 532 respondents had a good level of knowledge
regarding cosmetic selection on social media. And as many as 491 respondents
had a good attitude towards choosing cosmetics on social media.
