Abstract
Religious moderation education is becoming an increasingly relevant issue
in Indonesia's diverse society. In this context, educational institutions have an
important role in shaping the character and attitude of tolerance. This thesis aims to
examine the implementation and effectiveness of religious moderation education in
Muhammadiyah educational institutions, one of the leading Islamic organizations
in Indonesia.
This study used a qualitative approach with the method of library research.
This research was analyzed using descriptive analytical methods and deductive
reasoning. Analytical descriptive is a method that functions to describe the object
under study through the data that has been collected as it is. While the purpose of
deductive reasoning is reasoning that departs from general data in making analysis,
then draws specific conclusions to gain a deep understanding of the implementation
of religious moderation education in Muhammadiyah educational institutions.
The results of the study show that Muhammadiyah educational institutions
have adopted a moderation approach to religion by applying the values of tolerance,
inclusivity and mutual respect in the learning environment. Nonetheless, there are
still challenges in the implementation of religious moderation education. religious
moderation education in Muhammadiyah educational institutions has an important
role in shaping the character of students who are inclusive, tolerant, and able to live
side by side in a diverse society. Efforts to continue to strengthen and improve
religious moderation education in Muhammadiyah educational institutions are
essential to building a harmonious and just future for the nation.
