This study aims to describe environmental wisdom in the novel Sarongge by
Tosca Santoso. This research uses descriptive method. The data in this study is the
literary text of the novel Sarongge by Tosca Santoso. The data source in this research
is the novel Sarongge by Tosca Santoso, the first printing published by Dian Rakyat
in 2012. The data was collected by means of a documentary study. The results of this
study illustrate that in the novel Sarongge by Tosca Santoso there are forty-three
forms of environmental wisdom which are grouped into five principles, including
respect for nature, the principle of responsibility for nature, and the principle of
compassion and caring for nature, the principle of no harm to nature, the principle of
living simply and in harmony with nature, and the principle of solidarity. This
research is expected to motivate readers to protect and love the environment.
