The focus of the problem in this study is what variety of languages are used in online learning with WhatsApp media. The purpose of this study was to describe the variety of languages, the patterns of interaction contained in online learning with WhatsApp media and the background factors for the occurrence of various languages in class VIII A. The research used a descriptive qualitative method. The data collection technique used was listening and note taking. Based on the results of the research and analysis, there are 30 utterances that correspond to the variety of languages. The utterances consist of 14 utterances that are in accordance with the types of language varieties, 10 utterances that are in accordance with interaction patterns, 6 utterances that are in accordance with the factors behind the occurrence of language varieties.
