Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the teacher's performance in teaching cultural arts and crafting in primary schools in the Kembaran subdistrict. This is qualitative research with a descriptive research method. The data collection techniques used interviews, observation, and documentation to 12 teachers who graduated from PGSD UMP and PGSD UT and 6 principals from 6 primary schools in the Kembaran sub-district area with criteria for civil servant
and non-civil servant teachers, each of whom taught in the lower class. and high.
The technique of the validity test using data triangulation and methodological triangulation. The results of the study showed that the teacher's performance in teaching the cultural arts and crafts was still not optimal. Learning arts, culture, and crafts in Kembaran sub-districts also encountered several challenges, including the limited materials that teachers could not really master, teachers' creativity in teaching arts, culture, and crafts material, and the supporting facilities and infrastructure for arts, culture, and crafts learning. Factors that affected teacher performance in teaching arts, culture, and crafts in primary
schools of Kembaran sub-district in terms of educational background, teachers graduated from PGSD UMP had better performance compared to teachers who graduated from PGSD UT as the teachers graduated from PGSD UMP has received the basic concepts of art consisted of fine, music, dance. In terms of teachers' age, younger age teachers tend to have better performance than the senior ones as younger teachers had greater enthusiasm and creativity in teaching. While in terms of teachers employment status, teachers with civil servant status have better performance than teachers with non-civil servant status. The efforts to improve teacher performance were done by seeking additional material from other references, discussing with teachers who had basic
