Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of job satisfaction on employee
performance with organizational commitment as a mediating variable in Subur Ban
Group. The population in this research is all employees of Subur Ban Group. The
sample in this study was 114 employees using the accidental sampling technique.
The analysis used was the Model Fit Test (F), t-test, Sobel Test, and Determination
Coefficient Test (R2
).
Based on the results of the fit model (F) model 1 and model 2 have met the
model fit test. The results of the t-test research concluded; (a) job satisfaction has a
significant effect on organizational commitment, (b) job satisfaction has a
significant effect on employee performance, (c) organizational commitment has a
significant effect on employee performance, (d) organizational commitment can
mediate the relationship between job satisfaction and employee performance. The
Sobel test results concluded that job satisfaction has a significant effect on
employee performance through organizational commitment. The result of the
coefficient of determination (R2
) model1 shows the influence of job satisfaction on
the organizational commitment by 10.3%. The coefficient of determination (R2
)
model2 test shows that the effect of job satisfaction and organizational commitment
on employee performance is 69%.
