This thesis aims to describe the type of conversational implicature of the main
characters in the film Hafalan Delisa Delisa by a director Sony Gaokasak. This is a
qualitative descriptive approach. The data source of this research is obtained from
film Hafalan Shalat Delisa by a director Sony Gaokasak obtained from YouTube. The
data of this study were utterances of the main characters in the film Hafalan Shalat
Delisa which contain conversational implicature. The data are provided using the
method of note-taking by the technique of Uninvolved Conversation Observation
Technique (SBLC), tapping techniques, and note-taking techniques. The data are
analyzed using the equivalent method which has two techniques, namely the basic
technique in the form of the Determination of Determination Element (PUP)
technique and the advanced technique of applying to equalize (HBS). Then, the
agitating method is used as an advanced method. There are two techniques in the
Distributional method namely the segmenting immediate constituents technique (BUL)
as the basic technique and continued with the dressing technique. Based on the results
of the analysis and discussion, it obtained 3 (three) types of conversational
implicature on the speech of the main character in the film Hafalan Shalat Delisa by
Sony Gaokasak. There are 4 (four) types of general conversational implicature, 22
(twenty-two) types of scale implicature utterances, and 10 (ten) types of specific
implicature utterances.
