This study aims to describe the classification of emotions and personality forms of the main character in Tere Liye's Goodbye novel. This qualitative research explained the classification of emotions and the personality of the main character in Tere Liye's Goodbye novel as the object of the research. The data of this research are in the form of quotations of words, phrases, and sentences containing classifications of emotions and personality forms of the main character. The data source is the Goodbye novel by Tere Liye. The researcher used the reading and note-taking method at the data collection stage. The study's results found seven types of emotions that appear in the main character named Sintong. Emotions that appear include (1) fear: an emotion that encourages a person to avoid and stay away from something that makes a person feel threatened. (2) shame: an emotion caused by a failure to meet a standard of someone's ideal self-image in other people's eyes. (3) love: a feeling of liking or being attracted to other individuals. (4) joy: an emotion that occurs because of an incident that makes someone feel happy and relieved. (5) anger: an emotion that arises because a person feels annoyed, offended, hurt, or irritated with another person, himself, or a particular object. (6) sadness: an emotion that arises because of the loss of something valuable. (7) guilt: an emotion that arises because someone feels wrong about a thought or behavior considered immoral or reprehensible. The personality of main character in the novel is introverted.
