The number of vehicles is one of the causes of road damage. Flexible pavement is
usually used on roads withheavy traffic. Since the number of vehicles increases, it
is possible that roads will be damaged in a relatively shorttime. The purpose of
this research was to figure out the effect and the correlation of the number of
vehicles andthe level of road damage. The regression method was employed to
analyze the number of vehicles and the levelof road damage. The effect of
changes in the number of vehicle types on the changes in the value of road
damage was indicated by the value of R (coefficient of determination). This
research was conducted onJalanRaya Purwokerto (Purwokerto-Gumilir Line).
There was a correlation between the amount of vehicle traffic and the type of
vehicle with the value of road damage. The result of R was0.886 and that of the
equation between heavy vehicles (X1) and the value of road damage (Y), namely
Y = 20.918 + 0.57X1. Road damage which was affected by the amount of heavy
vehicle traffic had a percentage of 88.6%. The higher the volume of vehicles,
especially heavy vehicles, the greater the damage.
