The Covid-19 pandemic has had a considerable impact in various fields, one of which is in the field of education. The Covid-19 pandemic has caused a change in the learning system from all face-to-face learning to online learning. Online learning is learning that is carried out by utilizing technology. During the implementation of online learning, in addition to the academic aspects of online learning, it is also necessary to pay attention to the character aspect. Character education is one of the important aspects that need to be considered during online learning. students become less disciplined. This study will explore information related to how the implementation of online learning in the formation of the disciplined character of the fifth grade students of SDN 04 Bajing Kulon Kroya Cilacap, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of online learning in forming the disciplined character of students in class V SDN 04 Bajing Kulon Kroya Cilacap. This study aims to describe distance learning in character building and obstacles during character formation at SDN 04 Bajing Kulon Kroya Cilacap. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. This study uses data collection techniques of observation, interviews and documentation. The research was conducted in May – June 2021 at SDN 04 Bajing Kulon Kroya Cilacap with principals, teachers and students as participants. The validity of the data was tested using technical triangulation and source triangulation. The teacher plays an important role in instilling and developing the disciplined character of students through learning, so that the teacher always gives advice at the end of the lesson to increase the motivation of students to be disciplined in doing everything. The advantage of online learning in building disciplined character is that learning can be accessed anytime and anywhere and the cost of learning is less. The weakness of online learning in the formation of disciplined character is that students are late for learning, assignments are collected longer than the time determined by the teacher.
