Abstract

his study aims to determine whether there is a difference in the average mathematical problem-solving ability in terms of students' thinking styles (Concrete Sequential (SK), Abstract Sequential (SA), Abstract Random (AA), Concrete Random (AK)) and if there is a difference, then it can be seen which group of thinking styles has a significant difference in the mathematical problem-solving ability of students at SMA Negeri 1 Rawalo during the Covid-19 pandemic. The type of research was quantitative using the ex post facto method. Sampling used a simple random sampling technique and was obtained for the eleventh grade of MIPA (Mathematics and Science) 3 and MIPA 4. The data collection technique used a questionnaire of students' thinking styles (SK, SA, AA, AK) and a written test of mathematical problem-solving abilities. Data analysis used normality, homogeneity, One Way Anova, and Duncan tests. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that there was a difference in the average of written test on mathematical problem-solving abilities at SMA Negeri 1 Rawalo during the Covid-19 pandemic between students who had SK, SA, AA, and AK thinking styles. The SK, SA, AA, and AK thinking style groups have a significant difference in which the SK thinking style group gives the highest average mathematical problem-solving ability of 77.39, but it is not significantly different from the SA and AA thinking style groups; 66.22 and 65.54. While the AK thinking style group shows the lowest average of the mathematical problem-solving ability; 64.25.
