Abstract
The emergence of issues that are not wearing Islamic religious education such as: The problem that often occurs, especially in learning Islamic Religious Education in the subject of Worship is how to present the material to students properly so as to obtain maximum, effective and efficient results. Besides that, another problem that often arises is the lack of teacher attention to models or variations of learning in increasing good learning motivation. The purpose of this research is to increase students' learning motivation by using crossword puzzle technique.
This study uses a qualitative approach and with the type of research using classroom action research (PTK) as for the procedure using : planning, action, observation, reflection, with the subject of this research, namely teachers of Islamic jurisprudence and seventh grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Sirampog Brebes. Data collection techniques using cycle observations, questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis was carried out in three steps, namely: pre-cycle, cycle 1, cycle II.
The results showed that the cooperative learning model using the crossword puzzle technique could increase learning motivation in the material for congregational prayers and qashar prayers in seventh grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Sirampog Brebes for the academic year 2021/2022. This is evidenced by the increase in students' learning motivation from the pre-cycle stage, which initially used the conventional method with an average value of 65.0%, after the first cycle was carried out using the cooperative learning method through the crossword puzzle strategy, there was a significant increase in motivation, namely of 75.5%, then carried out again in the second cycle while still using the cooperative learning method through the crossword puzzle technique, which increased very satisfactorily in accordance with the researchers' expectations, which was 97.0%. So according to the researchers, this method can increase students' learning motivation in the subjects of Fiqh of Worship with the material for congregational prayers and qashar prayers in class VII SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Sirampog Brebes.
