Abstract

This research is a development research that aims to develop a learning module for reading poetry for class X with a demonstration method. In addition, to determine the response of teachers and students to the feasibility of reading poetry teaching materials with the developed demonstration method. The procedure in this development uses the Borg and Gall development model which has 10 development steps including, 1) research and information gathering, 2) planning, 3) initial product development, 4) initial product trial / limited trial, 5) refinement initial product, 6) wider field trial, 7) improvement of product resulting from wider field test, 8) final product trial, 9) revision or refinement of final product, 10) dissemination and implementation. The subjects of this study were students of SMA N 1 Jeruklegi Class X MIPA and IPS for the academic year 2021/2022. The instruments used in this study were interviews and questionnaires in the form of a questionnaire on the needs of teachers and students, a material and media assessment questionnaire by experts to measure the validity, and a questionnaire for teacher and student responses to the feasibility of the product. In the product feasibility test, 7 Indonesian teachers from 6 high schools and 101 students of SMA N 1 Jeruklegi participated. Obtaining a score on each aspect. For the teacher's response, there are three aspects that are assessed to obtain a total score of 788 from a maximum score of 840 with an average value of 3.41 and fit into the appropriate criteria. Meanwhile, student responses from the two aspects assessed obtained a total score of 1233 from a maximum score of 1480 with an average value of 3.36 with appropriate criteria. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the learning module for reading poetry for class X with the demonstration method is feasible to be used as a tool for the learning process.
