In recent years, the Indonesian people have faced successive disasters,
including forest and land fires, volcanic eruptions, floods, earthquakes, droughts,
and landslides. The number of disaster-prone areas in Indonesia and the importance
of increasing disaster risk reduction efforts are a strong foundation for the
Indonesian people to jointly carry out disaster prevention efforts in an integrated
and directed manner. The purpose of this thesis is to find out the concept of Islamic
education in disaster mitigation and its implications for community faith.
This type of research is library research or literature study, with primary and
secondary data literature sources in the form of books and notes as well as research
reports. With data collection techniques using the documentation method, as well
as research instruments by examining data including triangulation of sources and
theories using data analysis techniques by means of content analysis.
The results show that the concept of Islamic education in disaster mitigation
begins by providing special knowledge related to disasters which include:
preparedness education, disaster mitigation education, disaster emergency response
education, disaster recovery education, and post-disaster activities carried out in
three steps, namely: preparedness, emergency response and post-disaster recovery.
Implications for faith, baliwa is actually a disaster is love God’s love for man,
because it is in fact a test and trial on the faith and behavior that has been done by
humans. Faith system rests on the belief that Allah is the most gracious (loving and
dear). So that believers always acknowledge that what is given by Allah SWT to
them is “goodness”.
