The research entitled A Classification of Positive and Negative Emotions in
the Nadira Novel by Leila S. Chudori descriptive. The method employed was a literary
psychological approach. The data of this research were sentences or paragraphs
containing the classification of positive and negative emotions in the Nadira novel by
Leila S. Chudori. At the data collection stage, the researcher used reading and notetaking
techniques. In the data analysis stage, the researcher reduced the data
discovered. Then, the researcher presented the data. Finally, the researcher verified
the data to re-check the records available in the previous stage. The results revealed
that the Nadira novel by Leila S. Chudori presented positive emotions such as 1.)
Feelings of love described by Kemala Yunus, Mr. X, Tito Putranto, and Bram
characters, 2.) Feelings of happiness described by Utara Bayu, Nadira, Niko, and
Novena characters. The negative emotions such as 1.) three concepts of guilt depicted
in the figures of Nina, Bram, and Arya. 2.) The hidden guilt depicted in Nina's
character. 3.) Self-punishment described by Nadira's character. 4.) The feeling of
shame that the researcher did not find in character in Nadira's novel. 5.) Three
feelings of sadness described by the author in the Yu Nina, Nadira, and Tara
characters. 6.) Feelings of hate described by Mach.
