The background of this research was the lack of students' confidence during
learning and also the low learning achievement of students in grade V of SD Negeri
1 Kecila. This study aimed to increase self-confidence and to improve the learning
achievement of fifth-grade students using learning video. This research was
conducted in the form of cycles, each cycle consisting of 4 components, namely:
planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 15
students of grade V of SD N 1 Kecila, consisting of 7 male students and 8 female
students. The data collection instruments used in this classroom action research
were written tests, observation sheets, and documents. This was a classroom action
research that aimed to increase self-confidence and achievement in learning
mathematics using learning video. This classroom action research was conducted
in two stages, cycle I and cycle II with 1 meeting per cycle. The results of the selfconfidence
questionnaire in the first cycle obtained an average of 2.15 with good
criteria and increased in the second cycle with an average of 2.38 with good
criteria. The results of learning achievement in the first cycle got a percentage of
78.67% and in the second cycle increased to 90% with very good criteria. The
conclusion of this study is that the application of learning videos can increase
students' self-confidence and learning achievement.
